this place is like a merry go round based upon a bonus chme in which they recieve for getting people into work.

People in the work plave e.g. recurtiters and advisors have setup stalls e.g. Market stalls, and Family buisnesses.
They use these stalls to as a window to gain EXTRA bonusess. Even when the pepople on the programme are not getting paid.
They Get people on 2 month placements then they get Bonuses..

So Neil Watson stepped down (in effect) from Finance Director and resigned a directorship? Nothing strange here? Well, I beg to differ.

Why would the Finance Director jump down a position?

For careers we either change into a similar role or progress to a higher one. The only way we would ever go down is a compromise (such as instead of dismissal, because of very poor performance, desperation to still have a job etc. – though I wouldn’t want to stick words and imply them to any A4e staff)

To go down a position is like a Managing Director deciding to become a non-executive director… these things don’t happen unless there is a good reason behind them.

Regarding Business Plans: do some research via google, see how many similar sized UK businesses make their business plans available for download.

The only way to effectively be up-to-date is to change them as you go along. Waiting a few years then changing them all will be a drain on your resources not to mention A4e doesn’t really have that many centres in the UK to list anyway.

I think to change a general negative experience into a positive one for all participants (we are talking the majority here, some clients would have had a positive experience, I hope) will require an investment exceeding £15 million.

No problems there – instead of at current having a casual discussion when time best fits, it would be good for more dedication and formal process. If it is too informal than it is no different to reading the numerous forums, blogs etc. on the internet which wont influence change. I am not demanding millions or anything silly, but at the end of the day you are a large international business and if you require my services to shape you into a better organisation with happier clients and long term greater contracts being awarded I don’t think its too much to ask for some financial consideration for my time.

I think it would be a good move to disclose such plans (commercial in confidence) if you feel you require feedback on your Flexible New Deal plans.

Thanks for your response, to be honest I didn’t even think about using my A4e email account but I have this time, so hopefully you will be reassured about who I am.

Just to address a couple of your questions. You are right in thinking that Neil Watson still works in Finance but someone else (Mark Stanley) was appointed to Finance Director earlier this year, so the company records needed amending when that change happened. Neil now works for Mark. Nothing strange there.

In regards to the business plan, it has been produced as an internal document, but there could be some scope for getting it published onto the website. I can always ask the question anyway.

You are right to about the lack of office addresses on the website. It used to be there but became out of date. We’re working on it at the moment and there should be a ‘find a centre’ function on the website in the next few weeks.

You ask why I am bothered about New Deal. I don’t think there’s any sense in just forgetting about it because FND is coming, do you? Yes, New Deal is winding down, but we want to make sure that all the old problems are stamped out, so that our customers ALL have a positive experience that genuinely helps them find work. Office space, environment and IT equipment are all key in our FND plans so I can say, things will be better.

In regards to paying for your services, I’ll have to get back to you. I saw this more as an informal thing to be honest. Really do appreciate your response though. Hope to chat soon.

Firstly, I have nothing to verify who you are – I mean a gmail address instead of an a4e.co.uk email address isn’t a good start. Nevertheless, I wouldn’t see the reason why anyone want to besides there is nothing stopping someone posting anonymous with an a4e.co.uk email address.

Hello? You have just told me that Neil Watson has changed from Finance Director to a different role? Or a misunderstanding on my part? If that is the case then the suspicions of possible problems for resignation of a company director (to which there was a lot of issues for a4e) is right. This means either a) he has a different non-finance role (after fraud investigations) or b) still works in finance but someone has become a higher rank than him.

Please confirm this.

Nothing is on your website – you don’t have a business plan, you don’t list your “training” centres etc. All you have is your registered office address visible. If you offer any information you have to apply for it or email someone to get it. Why so secretive? How do you know that people aren’t interested? As you can see New Deal Scandal isn’t solely about A4e, A4e is only a small part but now its gets most of the unique hits to this blog.

Why are you interested now? New Deal is over. It would be good to review the situation but would mean getting rid of a lot of staff as they can’t be trusted. Fraud is a major problem and no problem mentioned is possible to be overlooked. Overcrowded centres, not enough resources etc. are all a wider problem that your HQ is aware of. It is simple maths at the end of the day. If you have 3 times the number of actual participants to capacity someone should flag this problem up.

You probably do anyway, but why not lease new equipment? You dont have to buy. Also, has tax advantages.
